My name is Tony Ebden, I was born in 1976, in Australian city of Geelong, is also my current residence. In my childhood, I was very fond of drawing. My old man enrolled me in the art school. For six years, I studies drawing, painting, decorative engraving techniques. My old man is a jeweler and owns few merchandise. He very much encouraged me to follow his career.

In summer of 1996, I went to city of Atlanta with my family to see the Olympic Games. Meanwhile in a very coincidence, we visited the Blade Show held by Blade magazine (world’s biggest knife show). I saw quite many masterpieces, collected quite many signatures as my collection habits, including Bob Loveless, Gil Hibben, etc. From the displayed works, I found masculinity and power which hardly exists in Jewelries. When I returned home, I bought some materials and began to make knives.

Knife making is not easy especially in the beginning, with too many elements to be taking care of, but also it’s rewarding when you see the outcome of each process. You can always do things on my way without following any rules. My sister, Samantha, is also a jeweler; we sometimes do exciting collaboration works together. We combined Damascus, gold, mother of pearls inlays, we are also advised by many masters from jewelry making and knife making business. Many collectors from worldwide greatly praised our works for its delicate design and handicraft.

I feel blessed to be guided and helped by many great masters, I hope to be able to collaborate in the future with more master knifemakers and bladesmiths.
